- Get fit! Pacers of Silver Spring has started a fun run in downtown around 5:30 a.m. every Wednesday. Courtney Sloan (Cmriese@gmail.com) is helping to lead to run located on 8535 Fenton Street in Silver Spring.
- At the Long Branch Community center tonight (April 13) Safe Silver Spring will host Bruce Adams who is the Director, Office of Community Partnerships
School Resource Officers and Donna Pfeiffer from Montgomery County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (MCCPTA).
- Times are hard and if your are working on getting your resume together the Silver Spring Library can help. On April 14, the library will feature tips on networking during a job hunting workshop.
- Executive Director of Community Bridges Ana Lopez supports the Vagina Monologues this year at Montgomery College Performing Arts Center on Friday April 29 and Saturday April 30 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls that raises funds and awareness through benefit production of The Vagina Monologues and other artistic works.
- Have you met the friendly Penguin Eugene? The article, Cartoon: Eugene's First Day on Metro is a must see. The Penguin is a cultural icon in the downtown area and every month he'll join you in daily life.
- The Silver Spring Historical Society will host a wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Norman Lane, the "Mayor" of Silver Spring. There will also be stories about lane from those who knew him. The ceremony will take place on 8221 Georgia Avenue in downtown.
