1. AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND REFUGEE FOUNDATION'S YOUTH TALENT SHOW

Where/When: Silver Spring Civic Center, One Veterans Place (across from Majestic Movie Theater) on June 12 from 4:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m.

Why Go:  You can come to watch talented students of the African Immigrant and Refugee Foundation and the Catching Up Program. 

Pricing: $4 for students. $10 for parents and alumni. $35 for the general public.

2. MANDY PATINKIN AND PAUL FORD AT THE STRATHMORE

Where/When:  , 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda, MD 20852 (Music Center) on June 9th and 10th at 8:00 p.m.

Why go: Mandy Patinkin will sing songs by Irving Berlin, Stephen Sondheim and others along with Paul Ford.

Pricing: $35-$78

3. PARKLAND POOL CARNIVAL

Where/When: 1124 Arcola Ave, Wheaton, MD 20902 (Parkland Pool - look for the blue whale!) on June 12th from 12:00pm–7:00pm.

Why go: Bring the entire family to meet the community and see the shaded grounds that make Parkland Pool such a wonderful place to spend your summer. 

Pricing: All day with the purchase of a $2.50 wristband and 50 cent Carnival games and activities.

4. FREE WINE TASTING AT FENWICK BEER AND WINE

Where/When: The beer and wine store is located on 1327 Fenwick Lane and the tasting is on Friday, June 10 from 4:30 p.m.  to 7:30 p.m. 

Why go: Enjoy the different flavors of wines from Spain and Argentina.

5. TOUR BALTIMORE PARKS

Where/When: 1500 Washington Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21230 (Carroll Park) on June 15th at 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Why go: Cycle tour through Baltimore's lovely parks and neighborhoods in the ninth annual "Tour dem Parks, Hon!" bike ride to raise funds for the city's parks. Choose from 12, 25, 35, and 64-mile routes, all beginning and ending in historic Carroll Park. 

Pricing: $40 adults / $20 kids 16 and under

6. CHURCH CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR 

Where/When: Celebrate with St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church located on 3820 Aspen Hill Road, Silver Spring, 20906 on June 12 at 10:30 a.m.

Why go: To enjoy steel pan drums, dance and music from different cultures and the gospel read.
