Lawsuit Filed Against Teacher For Shocking Autistic Boy: Report

A special education teacher at a Montgomery County high school is accused of using a device to shock an autistic student.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring family has filed a lawsuit against a special education teacher at John F. Kennedy High School, claiming he used a Taser or stun gun to shock their autistic son last year, according to Bethesda Beat.

The lawsuit, which was filed in late October, said the teacher used the device in confronting the boy. Bethesda Beat reported that the boy sustained injuries to his "legs, arms and mind" and that the family is now seeking more than $500,000 in damages.

No other information was immediately made available.
