Man Dies In Single-Car Crash In Cloverly: Police

A 56-year-old man is dead after losing control of his vehicle and striking a utility pole, according to Montgomery County police.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Maryland man has died in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday in Cloverly, according to Montgomery County police.

The crash happened around 12:19 a.m. near the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and McNeil Lane.

Authorities say Mark Robert Bonhag, 56, of Howard County, was driving a Mazda6 sedan on New Hampshire Avenue when — for reasons still under investigation — he went off the roadway and struck a utility pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
