News in Review: Hospital Evacuates Pregnant Patients and Fenton Street Market Petitions for Change

If you missed the news this week in Silver Spring, no worries. We cover it here in our weekly review!

This week, Patch reported on a fire at Holy Cross Hospital, CVS opens in August, Discovery Communications treats residents to a screening, crime in your neighborhood, and The Fillmore debuts preview center before venue opens in mid-September.

1. Earlier this week, CVS started laying out signage in its new location on Fenton Street in downtown. Construction on the new store started earlier this year in July and is moving steadily along.

2. The Fillmore Silver Spring Preview Center opened Thursday in the downtown area to give a sneak peak of what to expect inside of the venue and the quality of it's upcoming shows.

3. There is plenty of seating and walking areas for United Therapeutics employees to enjoy a breath of fresh air during the workday and to hold informal meetings overlooking downtown Silver Spring to the south and outer suburbs to the north.
