Pedestrian Fatally Struck After Crash On Muncaster Mill Road: Police
A Prince George's County driver who got out of his van after a crash was then fatally struck by a vehicle, Montgomery County Police said.
NORBECK, MD — A Prince George's County driver who got out of his van after a crash was then fatally struck by a vehicle, Montgomery County Police said. The accident happened Thursday morning on Muncaster Mill Road, near Norbeck Road.
About 5:37 a.m., police and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to a pedestrian struck by BMW.
Police said in a news release that the pedestrian, Earl William Smith, 43, of Clinton, had been driving a 2012 Ford transit T350, when he struck a sign, causing the van to become disabled in the median.

Smith got out of his vehicle and was struck in the roadway by a 2007 BMW 328i sedan, which was eastbound on Muncaster Mill Road, near Norbeck Road.
The driver of the BMW, who police did not identify, remained at the scene.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
