Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of June 20 to June 28

Residential burglaries, robbery, and vehicle thefts were a part of police duty.

In the Montgomery County Police major crimes weekly summary for the downtown Silver Spring area, robberies and residential burglaries dominate the report. The crime report for the week of June 20 to June 28 is as follows: 

  • 8000 13th Street: An armed robbery occurred in this block on Monday, June 27 at 1:00 a.m. The suspects displayed a weapon, assaulted the victim and obtained property.
  • Manchester Road and Schuyler Road: A robbery occurred at this on Monday, June 27 at 12:30 a.m. The suspects displayed a weapon and obtained property.
  • Woodside Methodist Church, 8900 Georgia Avenue: A commercial burglary occurred at this church on Monday, June 27 at 12:47 a.m. There wasn't a forced entry and nothing was taken.
  • 10300 Conover Drive: A residential burglary occurred in this block between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Thursday June 23. There wasn't a forced entry and nothing was taken.
  • Seven thefts from vehicles occurred (cell phones, cash, GPS systems, tools, DVD’s, wallets and clothing were taken) on the following streets: Whitaker Terrace, Pershing Drive, Thornhill Road, Bruce Drive, Sutherland Road, Russell Road and Tilton Drive. Between Monday, June 20, and Sunday, June 25, during the late evening to early morning hours in about six of the incidents, it appears that the vehicle doors were left unlocked.
  • 700 Seek Lane: A robbery occurred in this block on Friday, June 24 at 2:30 a.m. The suspects approached the victims, produced a weapon and obtained property.
  • 1000 Lanark Way: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Tuesday, June 21, between 8:45 p.m. to 11:40 p.m. There wasn't a forced entry but property was taken.
  • 300 Southwest Drive: A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, June 22 at 11:00 p.m. in the. There wasn't a forced entry and nothing was taken.
