MD Man Accused Of Breaking Into Gym Locker, Stealing Customer's Car
Jason Ronil Medrano Reyes was arrested Tuesday and charged with multiple counts following the weekend incident, police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring man is facing charges after authorities said he broke into a locker at Planet Fitness and used the keys he found to steal a customer's car.
Jason Ronil Medrano Reyes, 21, was arrested Tuesday and charged with unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, theft and other counts following the Sunday incident, Montgomery County police said in a news release.
According to police, Medrano Reyes broke into the locker of a person who was exercising at Planet Fitness, located in the 2200 block of Randolph Road. Police said Medrano Reyes stole personal items and the keys to the victim’s car.

By the time the victim realized his locker had been broken into, authorities said Medrano Reyes had left the business in the victim’s 2019 white Mercedes-Benz.
Officers later found the stolen vehicle in the 2200 block of University Boulevard and initiated a traffic stop, but police said Medrano Reyes refused to comply. He eventually stopped the car in the 9500 block of Gwyndale Drive, where Medrano Reyes popped the driver's side tire and fled the area on foot, according to authorities.

Following an investigation, detectives identified Medrano Reyes as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Medrano Reyes was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.
