Silver Spring Man Charged With Assault, Attempted Rape: Police
The 25-year-old was charged with attempted first-degree rape and first-degree assault following the Friday incident.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring man is facing charges after police said he assaulted and attempted to rape a woman while she was walking to a bus stop.
Jerrell Lee Fullwood, 25, was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree rape and first-degree assault following the incident, Montgomery County police said in a statement.
According to police, officers responded to the 9800 block of Medical Center Drive around 5:30 a.m. for a report of a sexual assault. When officers arrived, police said they spotted Fullwood leaving the area on a bus.

Patrol officers got on the bus and took Fullwood into custody, police said.
An investigation later revealed that Fullwood assaulted a woman while she walking to a nearby bus stop. Detectives reviewed surveillance video and discovered Fullwood was walking behind the victim before the assault, police said.

Fullwood was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is currently being held pending a bond hearing.
