Silver Spring Woman, 91, Dies In 2-Car Crash; Police Seek Witnesses

Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed a two-car collision Monday that killed a 91-year-old Silver Spring woman.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County police are seeking anyone who may have witnessed a fatal collision Monday morning in Aspen Hill. Henrietta Gomez, 91, of Silver Spring later died from injuries she received in the crash, according to a police release.

Both county police and fire personnel responded around 10:08 a.m., to the area of Norbeck and Baltimore roads for the report of a crash involving two vehicles, according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2016 Nissan Sentra being driven by Gomez was trying to turn left from westbound Norbeck Road onto Baltimore Road, when her car was struck by a gray 2015 Volkswagen Jetta.

Although Gomez was in stable condition when she was taken to a nearby hospital, she later succumbed to her injuries, according to police.
