Suspect Sought In Attempted Armed Robbery In Silver Spring

Police are searching for a suspect wanted in an attempted armed robbery of an Exxon in Silver Spring.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Police are searching for a suspect in an attempted armed robbery that occurred at an Exxon in Silver Spring last month. Investigators released a surveillance photograph of the suspect Wednesday and are asking for the public's help in identifying him.

Police said the armed suspect entered the gas station and threatened an employee. The suspect demanded cash from the register, but fled the scene without obtaining any money. He was last seen on foot toward Gilbert Street, police said.

The incident occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 14 at the gas station at 701 University Blvd. E.

Anyone with information regarding this suspect or this armed robbery is asked to call police at 240-773-5100. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
