77-Year-Old Woman Dies In Crash In Montgomery County: Police

A woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Aspen Hill Monday afternoon, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

ASPEN HILL, MD — A woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Aspen Hill Monday afternoon, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

At about 2:30 p.m., police officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Layhill Road and Bell Pre Road for the report of a two-car collision. The two vehicles, a Subaru and Tesla, collided at the location.

Police determined that 77-year-old Maria Perdomo of Silver Spring was driving a red 2013 Subaru Outback. Perdomo was making a left turn from northbound Layhill Road onto westbound Bel Pre Road when she collided with a black 2019 Tesla Model Y that was traveling southbound on Layhill Road.

Perdomo was pronounced dead at the scene. The man driving the Tesla was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
