Woman Found Dead Inside Home, Man In Custody: Police

UPDATES: A man was arrested in Silver Spring Tuesday after a woman he lives with was found deceased in their Bradbury Manor Court home.

(Updated at 6:34 p.m. Friday): SILVER SPRING, MD — A man was arrested in Silver Spring Tuesday morning after a woman he lives with was found deceased in their home in what police called a "domestic-related homicide."

Anthony Miguel Strong, 50, called police at 6:48 a.m. Tuesday and told them he had killed his girlfriend. Officers responded to the home in the 11000 block of Bradbury Manor Court and located Strong standing outside of the home. He was taken into custody without incident, police said.

The 43-year-old female victim has been identified as Chaunya Michalyn Blackwell. She was found deceased inside of the home with apparent trauma to her body, police said. Blackwell's body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the cause of death.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect and victim were dating and shared the home, police said.
