Arlington Begins Bridge Replacement Project
The town started a three-phase project on a major bridge this month.

ARLINGTON, MA — The town has announced a three-phase project to replace the Mystic Street Bridge at Cookes Hollow.
The first phase of the project began on Wednesday, April 2. All traffic has been shifted to the western side of the bridge as Phase 1 is centered around replacing the eastern side. While traffic flow will not be shut down entirely at any point, the new traffic pattern is expected to cause delays, detours, and parking restrictions.
Phase 2 will focus on repairing the middle portion of the bridge, and the final phase will be about replacing the western side. Work will be conducted daily between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. regardless of season. Phase 1 is estimated to continue through the end of the calendar year.
