Arlington Discusses Potential Red Line Presence: Report
The Governor repealed a law that banned the MBTA from extending to a certain area of the town in December.

ARLINGTON, MA — Town leaders expressed their support for a potential future MBTA Red Line station near Arlington Catholic High School, according to a report from WBZ News Radio 1030.
Governor Maura Healey recently repealed a ban passed nearly 50 years ago that prohibited any extension of the red line in that area, and now local leadership is discussing the possibility of extending the MBTA’s reach into town.
“The next thing we want is to get a feasibility study going, because the plans are already drawn,” Arlington School Committee Chair and Town Meeting member Paul Schlichtman said.
