ARLINGTON, MA — The police department announced Thursday that it has found a report earlier this week of an attempted juvenile kidnapping as “unfounded.”

An 11-year-old boy reported being approached by a masked man in a sedan vehicle on Waldo Road on Tuesday, Sept. 3. According to Police Chief Julie Flaherty, the department’s investigation included interviews with the reporting party and nearby residents and business owners who could be potential witnesses. Surveillance footage was also reviewed.

“The investigation is now closed, as the department has determined that there is insufficient evidence to support further investigative action,” The department said in a statement.
