Arlington Launching Park Avenue Construction Project

The town aims to improve safety at three intersections.

ARLINGTON, MA — The town announced the launch of the Park Avenue Safety Improvements Project.

The project is slated to focus on three Park Avenue intersections: Appleton Street, Oakland Street, and Pau Revere Road and Wollaston Street. According to the town, the locations were selected on the criteria of perceived risk of accidents. The Transportation Advisory Committee has been developing improvements to these areas in recent years to its high crash history.

Project components being considered include curb extensions, pavement markings, pedestrian refuge islands, and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons at pedestrian crosswalks.
