ARLINGTON, MA — The School Committee is now accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the board that is typically made up of seven members.

The opening came about when member Jane P. Morgan was appointed to fill a position on the Select Board on an interim basis last month. The Select Board spot opened up after Lenard Diggins and his family moved to neighboring Somerville.

The interim School Committee member would serve until Arlington’s annual election next April. Application requirements include a statement of reasons for serving on the Committee, a resume, and any other information the candidate wishes to present regarding their interest in serving. All applications should be submitted to the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent Liz Diggins in-person or via email at ediggins@arlington.k12.ma.us. The deadline to apply is Friday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m.
