Arlington Man Facing Assault Charges After 'No Kings' Incident: Report

The resident reportedly punched a senior citizen in the face multiple times.

ARLINGTON, MA — A resident is facing an assault and battery charge after an incident that took place during a No Kings Rally in Hyannis this past weekend, according to a report from Hyannis News.

Peter Afouxenides, 61, pleaded not guilty in court on Monday for one charge of assault and battery on a person older than 60. According to a report from Barnstable Police Officer Peter Ginnetty, he encountered the 77-year-old victim lying injured in the middle of Barnstable Road. A friend of the victim who witnessed the event claimed an SUV pulled up next to them and the driver got out and punched the senior multiple times before driving off. The driver was soon identified as Afouxenides, and he was reportedly upset that his vehicle was contacted by a sign the victim was holding according to Lieutenant Michael Clark.

Afouxenides has a pre-trial hearing slated for Tuesday, Dec. 2.
