Arlington Pavement Project On The Verge Of Beginning

The work centers around repaving a prominent street.

ARLINGTON, MA — The town announced that the street repaving project for Massachusetts Avenue will begin on Monday, July 14.

The project, led by Arlington Department of Public Works and its contractor Newport Construction, spans from Pond Lane to Medford Street as well as Broadway Plaza.

Work will take between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays with removing the existing pavement on the street, which is expected to take approximately four days. A week has been allocated to adjust utility structures such as street lights and conduct minor curb work. Finally, the repaving and temporary striping of the street is expected to take about three days to complete.

Permanent striping will be implemented approximately one month after pavement completion.
