Brockton Backyard Screeching Leads To Scared Raccoon's Rescue

BROCKTON, MA — A raccoon was rescued in Brockton Monday morning after firefighters arrived to their station and heard a screeching coming from a nearby backyard.
Firefighters looked around and found a raccoon that had climbed into one of the traffic poles and got stuck, according to the Brockton Fire Department.

"Animal control was called and a rescue mission ensued," the department said. "After cutting the pole, with a little help [from] soap and water, the raccoon was free to go."
