Brockton Lawyer Honored as Man of the Year at Fete of Food & Wine

The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation New England Chapter hosts annual Fete of Food & Wine Celebrating Ken Feinberg as Man of the Year

On Saturday, October 27th, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation’s New England Chapter, will host the annual Fete of Food & Wine at the Museum of Fine Arts. This is the Foundation’s largest annual event, with proceeds supporting the mission of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation: to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.

This year, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation New England Chapter is thrilled to honor Kenneth Feinberg as Man of the Year. Kenneth is one of the nation’s leading experts in mediation and alternative dispute resolution and has been appointed to administer numerous high-profile compensation programs across the country, most recently One Fund Boston.

Kenneth’s daughter, Leslie, was his main inspiration to get involved with the foundation. Leslie has suffered from ulcerative colitis for 15 years, and her courage and determination in the face of the disease has had a direct impact on Kenneth and his wife, Dede. Kenneth has realized how important the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation’s role is in not only fighting to combat the disease through research and funding, but also how effective the Foundation is in raising awareness about IBD.

“Being named Man of the Year is a tremendous personal honor, made that much more special because I accept it on behalf of Leslie. She is an example of how these diseases needn’t be a blow to your personal or professional life, especially when you have the support of family, friends and the resources available from the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation,” Kenneth says.

Kenneth hopes that the Foundation continues its progress in combatting Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis by driving widespread public awareness through sharing patient stories and informing the public on the physical and mental trauma that comes with years of living with a chronic disease. “More than 1.6 million people across the country suffer from Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, it’s time to bring them out of the shadows,” says Kenneth.
