Pair Killed In Dartmouth Plane Crash Identified As Rhode Island Couple

DARTMOUTH, MA — The man and woman killed in a Monday morning plane crash on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth have been identified as a Rhode Island couple.

Thomas Perkins, 68, and his wife, 66-year-old Agatha Perkins, were the sole occupants of the single-engine Socata TBM 700 that crashed in the woodline of I-195 west just before the Reed Road exit in Dartmouth, according to a media release from the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.

"Parts of the aircraft were located in the woodline, and the fuselage was located in the median of the highway," the release said.

Thomas and Agatha Perkins, residents of Middletown, were located in the fuselage with "apparent injury" and "pronounced deceased on scene," the release said.

Part of the wreckage hit a Hyundai Sonata, injuring the driver, according to the release.

The plane had taken off from New Bedford Airport.

Eric Weiss, the chief of media relations for the National Transportation Safety Board, said the NTSB is investigating the crash.
