Two Men Held Without Bail In Connection To 16-Year-Old's Murder
State Police continue to search for Malik Cotton, 21, who is wanted in connection to the murder of a 16-year-old Brockton boy last year.

BROCKTON, MA — Two men have been arraigned and a third remains on the loose while officers search for a suspect in connection to the September 2021 murder of a 16-year-old boy, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz said.
Angel Vasquez, 23, and Angel Colon, 22, were arraigned in Brockton District Court Monday on one count each of murder, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building: all in connection to the death of 16-year-old Liedson Monteiro-Terry.
Both Vasquez and Colon pleaded not guilty and are being held without bail, Cruz said.

According to a police report, officers responded to 40 Sprague Avenue in Brockton around 1:05 a.m. on September 4, 2021, after Shotspotter detected three gunshots.
Once officers got there, they found a large group of people who were apparently there for a party. Police instantly found a young man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene and identified as Monteiro-Terry.

Brockton police launched an investigation with Massachusetts State Police and reviewed surveillance footage and interviewed witnesses at the scene to place Vasquez and Colon both at the center of the investigation along with a man named Malik Cotton, 21.
Arrest warrants ensued, and Colon was arrested on Friday in Brockton without incident, and Vasquez was arrested on Saturday in Braintree without incident, Cruz said.
Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police continue to search for Cotton.
Two other people have been charged as a result of the investigation. Alexandria Rodrigues, 21, has been charged with perjury, and William Houston, 21, has been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of a firearm and accessory before the fact.
Vasquez and Colon are scheduled to appear in court on August 18.
