Brookline Man Arrested in Back Bay Had Stolen Goods, Illegal Gun: Police
Boston Police say they recovered stolen merchandise, revolver from suspect's backpack.
BOSTON, MA — A Brookline man is facing charges for shoplifting and illegal possession of a firearm, after Boston Police were called to investigate a scuffle near Copley Square in the Back Bay this weekend.
According to police, officers received a call around 1 p.m. for a group of men reportedly fighting near Saint James Street and Trinity Place.
Upon arrival, police said, officers spoke with a loss prevention employee from Lord & Taylor, who reported a male suspect was stopped for shoplifting merchandise valued at about $400 from the store.

The suspect, later identified as Tommy Germain Gedeus, was arrested and taken to the police station for booking. Police allege that they found a silver Smith & Wesson .38 Special in his backpack, as well as stolen merchandise.
The Brookline 25-year-old was charged with Shoplifting ($200 and over) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
