Attempted Child Enticement: Brookline Man Arrested
The man was reportedly talking with an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old girl online.
BROOKLINE, MA — A resident has been arrested on charges related to attempted coercion and sending obscene material to a minor, according to the United States District Attorney’s Office.
William Kahn, 28, has officially been charged with attempted coercion and enticement and attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor. Khan has been accused of engaging in online conversations with an undercover agent pretending to be a 14-year-old girl. Khan reportedly had sexually-charged conversations with the person he believed was underage, which included sending a picture of adult male genitalia.
The charge of attempted coercion and enticement provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000. The charge of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.

Kahn appeared in federal court on Tuesday, Dec. 9 and has a detention hearing slated for Wednesday, Dec. 17.
