The YouTube sensation "Gangnam Style," with its colorful--and slightly absurd--music video has a connection to the Boston area--and Boston University is hoping to cash in on that.
Park Jae-sang, better known to the world as Psy, attended BU for just one semester, when he took an English language course in the summer of '96, Boston.com reports. The University plans to reach out to Psy as part of a comprehensive fundraising campaign detailed in BU Today.
The mind behind the international hit--which, at the time of writing, is well over 354 million views on YouTube--then went on to Berklee School of Music for another three semesters. Berklee representatives told Boston.com that they did not plan to chase Psy down for donations.

Jae-sang did not earn a degree from either school.
The Guardian reports that Psy waived his copyright on the video, and therefore has created a video "born to spawn" many of the parodies and homages that have sprung up on YouTube since its original release earlier this summer.
