Downed Traffic Light Closes Route 9 Eastbound

A traffic light down in the eastbound lane of Route 9 is rerouting traffic Friday morning, Brookline Police say.

The road was briefly closed due to the downed light. As of about 10:30 a.m., one lane is now open, according to the Brookline Police Department.

Brookline Police released an additional update around 11 a.m., stating that MassDOT is on scene, and wind appears to have been the cause of the light's tumble.

Work to move and repair continues. Considering taking another street or building in time for a slight delay on Route 9.
