Motorcade Alert: President Obama is in the City

President Barack Obama is scheduled to hobnob with big-money donors in the South End today, and then .

Obama was scheduled for a campaign roundtable Monday morning at Hammersley's Bistro in the South End. He and also spoke at Symphony Hall in the afternoon, a Boston Globe article says.

Later in the day, Judith and Douglas Krupp of Weston host a "Dinner with President Obama," according to Weston Patch. Tickets are $17,900, or $35,800 for a couple.

While the dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., the president's arrival will not be until later, Weston police said, and likely will not disrupt the evening commute. Cars may be stopped momentarily while the president's motorcade passes through the area.

The dinner is on Winsor Way, a dead-end road, begins at the intersection of Boston Post Road (Rte. 20) and Wellesley Street, threading its way southeast.

Douglas Krupp is the co-founder of a real estate investment company called the Berkshire Group, according to a Boston Globe article on Obama's fundraising stops Monday in the Boston area.

Presidential visits often cause T delays as well, since subway trains are not allowed to run underneath motorcades.
