Boy Hit By Truck in Cambridge, Hospitalized With Life-Threatening Injuries

An eight-year-old has been hospitalized with severe injuries, hit by a truck after running into the street Tuesday.

Cambridge, MA - An eight-year-old has been hospitalized with potentially life-threatening injuries, hit by a truck after running into the street Tuesday night.

A pickup struck the boy as he ran onto Land Boulevard around 10:20 p.m., running ahead of the adult and two other children who were with him at the time, according preliminary investigation by state police.

He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, according to state police.

The pickup’s operator, a 53-year-old man, remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigators, state police said. There was no immediate indication that the pickup operator was impaired or distracted by the use of his cell phone at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
