Man Jumps On Tracks At Central Square Station, Dies
MBTA transit police officers do not suspect foul play.

CAMBRIDGE, MA —A man is dead after he jumped onto the MBTA tracks at Central Station and came in contact with the third rail, according to Transit Police. The commotion resulted in major delays and the evacuation of hundreds of people as emergency personel responded.
Around 7 p.m. transit police were called in for a report of a man trespassing on the right of way at Central MBTA station. When they arrived, police found a man around 35 years old had jumped into the "pit" area and came in contact with the electrified third rail. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene.
Transit police said they do not suspect foul play and are looking into just what happened.
