MIT Police Honor Officer Sean Collier

Collier died in the line of duty during a shootout with the Boston Marathon bombers.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — The MIT Police Department and community supporters tossed beanbags, raffled off prizes, and more in support of fallen comrade Sean Collier, the MIT officer killed in a shootout with the Boston Marathon Bombers in 2013.

According to MIT Police, "All of the money raised will go to the Sean A. Collier Police Fund, which annually sponsors a recruit at the Lowell Police Academy in Sean’s name. Sean sponsored himself through the Transit Academy and we know he would love to give another the same opportunity."

It was the third edition of the annual event.
