Bridge on the Cambridge side of the Charles River is moving forward, with MassDOT narrowing six concepts to four detailed alternatives. Cambridge officials and residents are pressing for safer bike and pedestrian access, smaller roadways, and fewer high-speed ramps as the state prepares to pick a preferred design and launch a project website for public input.
