CAMBRIDGE, MA — There are a couple of new basketball and tennis courts in North Point Park near the Museum of Science. And in celebration of their opening, the Department of Conservation and Recreation is hosting a ribbon cutting Wednesday.

The opening of the courts on Department of Conservation and Recreation property is part of the continued mitigation plan, following the construction of the Big Dig, of the multi-acre New Charles River Basin. The 8.5-acre park opened in late 2007.

DCR Commissioner Leo Roy and state and local officials and representatives of Education First are expected to join too.
