3 Framingham Students Earn Degrees from the University of Vermont

Among the 2,975 degree recipients were students from 42 states and 85 international students from 16 countries.

Some 2,975 students were awarded a variety of degrees -- undergraduate, graduate and M.D. -- during the University of Vermont’s 214th commencement ceremonies on May 17.

  • Zachary Kanner graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences
  • Sophie Elliott graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the College of Arts & Sciences
  • Gregory Royce graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Television Studies from the College of Arts & Sciences

Chartered in 1791, University of Vermont was the first college or university in the United States that did not give preference to a religious sect in its charter.

University of Vermont has 9,958 undergraduates in seven schools and colleges, 1,371 graduate students and 459 medical students.
