5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: July 8
Grand opening of the Children's Grove at Cushing Memorial Park and Rotary Club of Framingham's carnival opens today.

1. The grand opening of the Children’s Grove at Cushing Memorial Park will be held rain or shine today at noon. The Children’s Grove blends formal and natural play elements together for children ages 5-12.
2. Wingmasters returns to the main Framingham Library today at 3 p.m. The popular birds of prey family show typically draws a huge summer crowd. The hour-long show is free.
3. The Rotary Club of Framingham opens its carnival tonight at the new Framingham State parking lot at the corner of Salem End and Maynard roads.The carnival will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. There is no admission charge, but tickets required for the rides. Food is an additional cost. Parking is available at the University parking lot on Maple Street. Shuttle buses will provide transportation to and from the carnival. There is no charge for the parking and shuttle bus.

4. The Greater Framingham Running Club will hosts its summer track meet tonight. Registration at 5;30 at Bowditch Field. Cost is $1 per runner. Children’s events include: 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter dash and 1 mile distance events as well as long jump, softball throw and a 400 meter relay. All events, whenever practicable, are staged in age-graded and often gender-segregated heats. The meets are every Wednesday night through August 12.
