1. From Mayor Yvonne M. Spicer – Happy New Year. Please Celebrate Safely: We are winding down 2021, and a new year is upon us. At the same time, COVID-19 infection numbers are surging. I know that many want to welcome the New Year with celebrations and fanfare. Celebrate, but do it safely. 

  • Getting Vaccinated
  • Wearing a mask
  • Getting tested if you believe you've been exposed
  • Social Distancing
  • Keeping your gatherings small and hold them in well-ventilated spaces and 
  • Washing your hands in warm water for 20 seconds

2. 76.4% of Framingham's Population is Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19: According to 2020 U.S. Census numbers, Framingham has a population of 72,362. As of the City's data report from December 22, 2021, 55,285 people in the City were fully vaccinated, which equates to 76.4%.

3. Effective December 21, 2021, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MassDPH) Issues a Mask/face Covering Advisory Regardless of Vaccination Status: In response to the spread of the Delta variant and the emerging Omicron variant, the MassDPH now advises that all residents, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask or face covering when indoors (and not in your own home). The MassDPH urges wearing a face covering if you have a weakened immune system, are at increased risk for severe disease because of your age or an underlying medical condition, or if someone in your household has a weakened immune system, is at increased risk for severe disease, or is unvaccinated. 5. The City’s Public Health Nursing Clinic, 113 Concord Street, Will be Closed to the Public, Monday-Friday, December 27-31, 2021.
