'Voices From Edgell Grove Cemetery': A Spooky Halloween Tradition In Framingham

Hear from voices "beyond the grave."

FRAMINGHAM, MA—This tradition began at the Old Burying Ground but has since moved to the "garden cemetery," which is modeled after Mount Auburn in Cambridge.

Join the Framingham History Center for a spooky Halloween event called "Voices From Edgell Grove Cemetery" on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 5 p.m. at the cemetery at 53 Grove St.

This is who you'll hear from, according to the Framingham History Center: Mary Eames who was the first person interred at Edgell Grove; mapmaker—Warren Nixon; General George Gordon and his wife Lizzie; historian, Josiah Temple, and a Revolutionary War soldier who died of smallpox and was reinterred in the soldier’s lot before developers destroyed his original grave behind Framingham’s “pest house”. There are others who are waiting to tell you their tales, but we don’t want to spoil their surprise!
