Yale Appliance and Lighting Opens Monday

The small business will open its second location in Framingham on Route 9 on July 13.

Yale Appliance and Lighting opens its second store in Framingham on Route 9 today, July 13.

After 92 years as a business, the company will open its new store in the former Salvation Army thrift store and Pier 1 Imports location at 215 Worcester Road.

The company’s original location is in Dorchester.

Framingham Patch was the first media outlet to announce the new Framingham location back in March.

Yale states it has the largest independent appliance service & delivery team in Massachusetts.

Yale sells major brands including Electrolux, Thermador, Jenn-Air, Maytag, Whirlpool, etc.

The company also does appliance repairs for refrigerators, freezers, cooktops, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, and dryers.

Yale recently joined the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce in Framingham. A formal ribbon cutting will be held on July 21.

Yale Appliance and Lighting CEO Steve Sheinkopf wrote in his blog ”the area, the Wellesley, Natick and Framingham area has always been interesting to me because I grew up in Needham. I spent my childhood going to the Natick Mall. I actually remember when there was an outside mall and going to the Natick movie cinemas, eating at The Tacomaker as well as playing pinball at Fun and Games. ... For me, its home.”

Yale was named one of the Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work in June. And in 2014, the Boston Globe named Yale as of the best places to work.
