5 Things: Hillers Tennis, Grab Some Groceries

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Goodbye Ilene Silver: In honor of Silver’s tenure at the school, the Hopkinton Parent Teachers Association will be holding a reception for her in the library from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The HPTA will also be presenting Silver with a memory book composed of pictures submitted by parents, faculty members, students and community members.

2. Wiring With a Passion: Mackenzie Fairbanks of Hopkinton, a junior in the electrical program at Keefe Regional Technical School was recognized at the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference. Fairbanks won a gold medal in Electrical Construction Wiring for completing hands-on work in low voltage wiring, EMT pipe bending, and Romex wiring during the competition

3. Local Music Awards: 1490 WMRC Radio in Milford will be holding their First Annual Local Music Awards Show next month. Nominees will be announced on June 25 and the awards will be handed out on July 19.

4. Go Hillers Go: Today at 3:30 p.m. the Girls Varsity Tennis Team will be playing in the MIAA Div. 2 State Championship game at Newton North High School. The girls were featured last Friday on Fox25’s Zip Trip.

5. Dine and Dash: The Hopkinton Lions Club will be holding their “” today at . Two winners, picked from a lottery, will be able to take free reign of the store for four minutes each.
