5 Things: Lamb Greets Voters, Give Us Your Feedback
Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
1. Help Patch Help You: Is there something that you wish was getting more coverage in your community? Do you hate seeing the same old story repeated all the time? Leave comments on articles and let Editor Sean O'Donnell know what is working well and what you think can be done better.
2. Hopkinton Water Ban: From Eric Carty, Head of the Water Department: "Due to the extended dry conditions we have encountered this winter, spring and now summer, rapidly decreasing groundwater levels, coupled with the dramatic rise in water consumption, and due to state imposed restrictions in the towns water management act, we must enact mandatory outside water use resections for all lawn sprinklers. Please turn off all lawn sprinkler systems immediately and we ask that you minimize all other unnecessary use. Other outdoor use including hand held watering of flowers, shrubs and gardens is currently still permitted before 9AM and after 5PM. It is imperative that everyone adhere to these restrictions, to help maintain adequate water supplies for daily essential needs, to meet firefighting capabilities and to help avoid further outdoor restrictions." Violators can face a fine of $100 after their first offense.
3. Guns and Hoses Game: The Holliston Police and Fire Departments have announced their Guns & Hoses baseball game for Aug. 25. Gates to Damigella Field at 4 p.m. and the game will start at 5. The $10 donation at the gates will go to the Holliston Police k9 Fund.

4. Lamb Hits the Streets: We've had a lot of content on the site focusing on the contest for State Representative between incumbent Carolyn Dykema and challenger Marty Lamb and they've noticed. Releases often come in from both campaigns and we try to post them as they come in. Just this past weekend Lamb's campaign sent some pictures of a sign holding event in Hopkinton center.
5. Announcing....: Whatever you want! You can post announcements on Patch by clicking here. They can be wedding or birth announcements, recognitions or even the formation of a new community group. We have room for any and all announcements on Patch. New announcements are often pulled to be included in the daily 5 Things.
