Holliston Man Wins at World Series of Poker

The final table for the Main Event isn't until November but one local man is already a headed home with a big prize.

It started with more than 6,500 entrants at the World Series of Poker Main Event, and the field has been narrowed down to ten; but not everyone that got knocked out is a loser.

Holliston resident Wayne Peterson was knocked out in 173rd place with a cool $44,655. That means Peterson more than quadrupled his $10,000 buy-in for the tournament. While this isn't quite the $8 million that the tournament winner gets, it's still a nice payday for the high stakes tournament.

Peterson has been winning tournaments for several years now. According to Pokerpages.com, Peterson won the Foxwoods Poker Classic in March of 2006.
