Holliston Police Log: Cougar Sighting, Snake removal

Tuesday, July 10

6:56 a.m.: A caller from Fiske Street reported that landscapers began work at 6:30 a.m.

8:14 a.m.: An officer from the removed a snake from a house on Oak Street.

12:26 p.m.: A caller reported a cougar in a parking lot on Water Street. Police have said it is highly unlikely that this was actually a cougar, more than likely it was a large cat or a dog.

1:22 p.m.: A caller reported that a dog had been left in the car on Washington Street unattended.

2:25 p.m.: Officers extinguished a small fire on a trash truck at the intersection of Washington and Concord Streets.

4:53 p.m.: A caller from Fairlane Way reported skateboarders who were causing a traffic hazard.

10:35 p.m.: Officers stopped a moped on Washington Street and spoke to the operator about an equipment violation.

11:52 p.m.: A caller from Alpine Drive reported a possible underage drinking party. Officers later checked the area and didn’t report any activity.

Wednesday, July 11

1:19 a.m.: A caller reported a one-vehicle crash on Ashland Street. When an officer arrived on the scene he reported that one person was injured. That person was taken to the hospital in Framingham and the car was towed.

7:18 a.m.: While an officer was doing traffic enforcement on Washington Street he stopped one vehicle and issued a summons to the driver for driving without proper identification.

9:24 a.m.: The Highway Department removed a deer from the road on Norfolk Street after it was hit by a car.

9:07 p.m.: An officer assisted the with an outdoor fire investigation on Northway Street.
