Holliston Police Log: One in Protective Custody, Injured Ducks

The following information was supplied by the Holliston police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, July 18

6:22 a.m.: The reported a group of ducks had been struck in the waterfall area off Woodland Street. Officers checked the area but did not locate the ducks.

9:10 a.m.: A caller reported a vehicle leaving the scene of a crash on Washington Street.

1:09 p.m.: A caller from Wedgewood Drive reported two males in a white van selling food door to door. The caller said they felt that the two men looked suspicious. When arrived the van was gone.

5:07 p.m.: A resident reported a lightning strike in the Dalton Road area. The caller didn’t see any smoke or fire but the area was still checked.

6:48 p.m.: A caller reported a minor crash in a parking lot on Washington Street. An officer assisted with the paper exchange.

7:09 p.m.: An officer performed traffic enforcement at the intersection of Washington and Central Streets. The officer reported multiple pedestrian violations.

7:56 p.m.: A caller from Wilkins Road reported receiving threatening text messages. An officer spoke with her about the options of a no trespass order.

9:46 p.m.: Six groups of teenagers were advised to leave the area.

10:48 p.m.: A motorist reported a dark SUV traveling on the wrong side of the road on Washington Street. The caller said the vehicle almost hit him as it headed toward Sherborn. Officers were unable to find the vehicle.

Thursday, July 19

7:16 a.m.: An officer reported a dead skunk at the intersection of Central Street and Sky View terrace.

9:56 a.m.: A walker on Adams Street reported that a red pick up truck almost hit him while he was on the street. The walker asked for more enforcement in the area.

4:05 p.m.: A caller from Exchange Street reported that her 19-year-old grandson made comments that he was going to harm himself. The caller said the grandson left the residence on foot in the direction of Milford. Officers located the subject and spoke to him.

4:43 p.m.: A caller requested assistance after locking themselves out of their car.

6:21 p.m.: A caller reported that a vehicle passed her on Prentice Street and then pressed on the brakes. Officers located the vehicle involved and spoke to the operator.

10:25 p.m.: Officers removed about 8 youths from the parking lot at the high school.

11:21 p.m.: A caller reported a loud party on Willowgate Rise at Overlook Drive. The caller said vehicles were parked on the street and people were getting in and out of them. Millis PD was called to assist with the incident; one person was taken in to protective custody.
