Police Chief John Moore presented his case before the Board of Selectmen at their June 27 meeting.

The has undergone major changes in the past year in a half. In February 2011 John Moore was appointed Chief of Police, a year later Shawn Moore was promoted to Lieutenant.

Now, the department has two officers with the training to be sergeants and in the coming months one of them will be promoted as the department’s fifth member at that rank.

By increasing the number of sergeants, the department will be able to have a trained and certified leader working every shift. Currently the department uses an “Officer in Charge” when they are unable to provide coverage.
