Hop. Police Log: Fireworks Displays, Loose Poodles and a Flaming Propane Tank

Thursday, July 5

12:54 a.m.: Officers from the confirmed a stolen vehicle on East Main Street by contacting the Framingham Police Department and the owner of the vehicle. A Juvenile was arrested and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle in violation of license restrictions, speeding and failure to stop.

9:00 a.m.: A commercial backhoe operator based on Hayden Rowe Street reported that the windows and lights had been smashed on his machinery.

7:35 p.m.: A caller reported an on going barking dog complaint on Spring Street. Animal Control was notified of the incident.

Friday, July 6

7:13 a.m.: A caller from North Mill Street reported that one of the bloodhounds from the neighborhood was loose. Animal Control contacted the dog’s owner.

10:13 a.m.: An officer spoke to the owner of a vehicle that was believed to be involved in a hit and run from the previous weekend on Fruit Street.

5:13 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a domestic incident on the main beach at . Ashland Police responded to the situation.

5:43 p.m.: An officer assisted with the paper exchange after a car crash on Main Street.

8:43 p.m.: A caller reported a group of youths lighting fireworks off behind .

Saturday, July 7

4:09 a.m.: A caller reported that his car window was smashed on West Main Street. After the car was towed the operator admitted that they broke the window.

9:27 a.m.: A resident of Westcott Drive told an officer that her two black poodles had escaped the underground electric fence.

10:07 a.m.: A 911 caller reported that a propane tank was on fire at the upper parking lot of the State Park. Officers responded for crowd control while the fire department dealt with the fire.

5:11 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of a person lying in the grass at . The individual told the officer that he was waiting for assistance with a disabled motor vehicle.

9:25 p.m.: A Hillcrest Drive resident reported a “large display of pyrotechnics” in the neighborhood. When officers checked the area it was all quiet.

10:26 p.m.: An Amherst Road resident reported either fireworks or gunshots in the woods behind her home. An officer observed fireworks coming from the Milford area.

10:31 p.m.: Several 911 callers reported fireworks going off in their Davis Road neighborhood. An officer located the responsible people on Mayhew Street and they were told to stop.

11:21 p.m.: A caller from Saddle Hill Road reported that a pug type dog with a collar and tag walked in to their house. No one in the house was brave enough to approach the dog, Animal Control responded.

Sunday, July 8

12:04 a.m.: A caller from North Mill Street reported a male wearing a bathing suit walking through the neighborhood. Officers were unable to find the man whom the caller said may have been intoxicated.

7:30 a.m.: A caller from Leonard Street reported two dogs in her backyard with dog collars on. A worker from Baypath responded to pickup the dogs.

3:20 p.m.: A caller reported that they witnessed a boat purposely drive over a flock of Canadian geese and ducklings on Lake Maspenock.

8:25 p.m.: An ambulance was sent to the scene of a car vs. deer crash on Route 495 at the request of the Massachusetts State Police.
