Police Log: Truck in Lake, Motorcycle Crash

Friday, June 8

12:16 a.m.: Officers processed the arrest of Paul F. Furphy, 53, 1 East Walnut St., Milford. Furphy was pulled over late Thursday night when the arrest occurred. He faces charges of marked lanes violation and drunken-driving.

7:28 a.m.: Officers responded to a car crash near the tennis courts on Hayden Rowe Street. One car was towed, one person refused medical treatment.

12:24 p.m.: An officer took a report of theft from West Main Street.

4:59 p.m.: One person reported that two checks were stolen from his car while it was parked at .

7:57 p.m.: Officers tried to assist a large raccoon in a dumpster on Chestnut Street. The officers left a board, which they hoped would allow the raccoon to climb out.

10:37 p.m.: A caller from D.J. Murphy Lane reported a noise complaint at his neighbor’s house. An officer had the neighbors quiet down.

Saturday, June 9

1:54 a.m.: A cell phone call was transferred to the from the Massachusetts State Police. The caller was unsure of his location but he said he had driven his truck in to a lake. Officers checked lakes on Cedar Street and West Main Street before hearing that the Upton Police Department had found the truck in Pratt Pond.

10:51 a.m.: A person who was checking on a Wood Street property reported that breaking and entering had occurred there.

1:42 p.m.: A motorist reported that there were youths standing in the road on East Main Street waving passing vehicles toward their car wash. An officer checked the event and did not observe any hazards.

8:07 p.m.: A caller from Rafferty Road reported a possible health problem with her new dog. Animal Control contacted the previous owner of the dog.

8:36 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious male who came out of the Woods on Hayden Rowe Street and walked near a few houses. An officer spoke to the man who lived in the area and had been on a walk through the woods.

Sunday, June 10

12:09 a.m.: A caller reported a loud party and fireworks on the John Matthew. Road An officer located a small gathering with a tv on. The fireworks came from somewhere west of John Matthew Road.

12:56 p.m.: A passerby told a detail officer about a motorcycle crash on West Main Street. An officer responded and said the accident was very minor. While responding to this a second accident occurred.

3:21 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious teen on the corner of Church Place. The person was picked up just before an officer arrived.

5:04 p.m.: An officer took a report of a restraining order violation on Davis Road.

5:40 p.m.: Hopkinton Police officers spoke to a resident about an incident in Boston at the request of the Boston Police Department.

7:32 p.m.: A caller reported that his son-in-law had entered his house and stolen several items.

10:14 p.m.: A caller reported that his car was sideswiped in a hit and run car crash on Wedgewood Drive. An officer took a report.
