Basement Fire Knocked Down on Cottage Place

Firefighters responded to the home late on Sunday evening.

Malden Firefighters quickly knocked down a basement fire at a Cottage Place home on Sunday evening.

Firefighters first arrived at 15 Cottage Place at approximately 11:25 p.m. and reported smoke showing from the two-and-a-half story wood frame and brick home. Residents in the home when the first started all got out.

A working fire was deemed shortly thereafter, with firefighters running one line into the home. The bulk of the fire was knocked down within 10 minutes, with heavy smoke throughout the home on all floors.

The fire was reported as knocked down with companies overhauling at 11:46 p.m.
