Encore Casino Donates Masks, Food And Supplies To State

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission voted to extend casino closures until at least May 4.

EVERETT, MA — Encore Boston Harbor has donated thousands of masks, gloves and other supplies to be given out at hospitals during the coronavirus crisis. The Everett resort and casino contributed 46,000 standard masks, 4,000 N95 masks, 6,000 gloves, seven pallets of bottled water and five pallets of toilet paper.

Encore also donated dozens of pallets of perishable and frozen foods to area food pantries and gave out hand sanitizer to charitable organizations, Boston 25 reported. The Massachusetts National Guard picked up the items for distribution.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission voted Friday to extend casino closures to run congruent with Gov. Charlie Baker's order to shut down nonessential businesses until May 4.
