Large Power Outage Friday Morning in Malden, Medford and Melrose
UPDATED: About 45,000 residents reportedly affected; MBTA's Orange experiencing "severe" delays.

There is a large power outage affecting Malden, Everett, Medford and Melrose Friday morning due to a power outage at the Everett substation, according to National Grid.
Just after 7:15 a.m. upwards of 45,000 people in the area are without power.
At 7:45 a.m., National Grid was reporting restoration times of between 9:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on May 29, 2015, in those communities.

Malden city officials say National Grid is aware of the situation and working on the issue.
According to NECN, National Grid is reporting Everett, Malden, Medford and Melrose are all affected with Medford being most heavily impacted with more than 24,000 without power.

The MBTA is reporting that the Orange line is experiencing “severe” delays due to the outage.
